SB Bitters is a practitioner-focused digestive tincture that works through the traditional bitter reflex to stimulate digestive activity before meals. Bitter herbs activate receptors in the mouth and digestive tract, encouraging the release of stomach acid, digestive enzymes and bile, which helps prepare the body for efficient digestion.
Angelica, dandelion and lovage support liver and digestive function, while fennel helps calm digestive discomfort and reduce bloating. Quassia provides a classic bitter stimulus to promote digestive secretions, and wild cherry bark offers gentle soothing support for the digestive tract.
Taken before meals, this traditional bitter formula helps prime the digestive system, making it particularly useful where insufficient digestive secretions, slow digestion or post-meal discomfort are present.
Practitioners often introduce SB Bitters where signs of weak digestive stimulation are present, such as bloating, heaviness after meals, sluggish digestion or poor tolerance of rich foods.
